REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

ALL Families Need to Upload the following: 

• IEP or 504 Plan (If applicable)

• Address Verification (Approved list below - select two)

  • PG&E, or Water Bill

  • Apartment Rental Agreements/ Mortgage Documents

  • Property Tax Bill/ Current Lease

  • Notarized Statement from Homeowner 

Acknowledging Rental of Living Space and Use of Address

You also need to upload the following:

• Transcript and most recent grades 

• Copy of Immunization Records and TB Test Results 

• Copy of Birth Certificate

• Copy of Parent's ID (Driver's License/ Passport/ State ID)

• Will begin during school day visits and completed at Parent Nights. 

• Parents who cannot attend the Parent Nights must complete and turn in to STHS Main Office: Course Request Forms on February 16, 2024 and registration packet starting March 1, 2024.

** Please note that Santa Teresa High School is in a DIFFERENT SCHOOL DISTRICT than your current Middle School  **NOT all information will "roll over" and families must register with ESUHSD. 

CREDITS & GRADE INFORMATION

• Students must earn a minimum of 220 Credits in required courses to meet the Graduation Requirements. 

• Students will be enrolled in 6 classes, and every class passed successfully will earn 5 credits.

• Students must earn a "C" or better grade to move on to the next level of classes.

• Freshmen can earn 30 credits for each semester and should earn 60 credits by the end of the school year.

• Review the Course Sequence Matrix, Course Sequence Flowchart and the Graduation and "A-G" Requirements to know what is coming up next.

• Students with deficient credits, please contact your assigned Counselor immediately to create a graduation plan.

• Students should have at least 60 of their minimum of 220 Credits in required courses to meet the Graduation Requirements. 

• Students will be enrolled in 6 classes, and every class passed successfully will earn 5 credits. 7 classes is an option depending on electives.

• Students must earn a "C" or better grade to move on to the next level of classes.

• Review the Course Sequence Matrix, Course Sequence Flowchart and the Graduation and "A-G" Requirements to know what is coming up next.

• It is recommended that students do the following

  1. Attend the Grade Level Presentations and Workshops. 

  2. Attend College and Career Fairs.

  3. Explore Colleges and Careers.

  4. Take the PSAT Exam if available.

  5. Create a List with all your extra-curricular activities such as: volunteer hours, clubs, sports, awards, etc.

  6. If interested in attending SVCTE next school year, students should find information at the SVCTE page.

  7. Review the Course Sequence Matrix, Course Sequence Flowchart and the Graduation and "A-G" Requirements. 

• Students should have 120 of 220 Credits in required courses at this point to meet the Graduation Requirements.

• Students will be enrolled in 6 classes, and every class passed successfully will earn 5 credits. 7 classes is an option depending on electives.

• Students must earn a "C" or better grade to move on to the next level of classes.

• Students with deficient credits, please contact your assigned Counselor immediately to create a graduation plan.

• It is recommended that students do the following

  1. Attend the Grade Level Presentations and Workshops.

  4. Take the PSAT in October to qualify for the National Merit Scholars Program if available.

  5. Take the SAT or ACT College Entrance Exam in the Spring if required.

  6.  Students who are applying to Competitive Programs or Private Colleges will also want to take at least (2) SAT subject area exams to provide additional data if required.

  7. Update your List that contains all your extra-curricular activities such as: volunteer hours, clubs, sports, awards, etc.

  8. Review the Course Sequence Matrix, Course Sequence Flowchart and the Graduation and "A-G" Requirements. 

  9. If interested in attending SVCTE next school year, students should find information at the SVCTE page.

• Students should have 120 of 220 Credits in required courses at this point to meet the Graduation Requirements.

• Students will be enrolled in 6 classes, and every class passed successfully will earn 5 credits. 5 classes is an option if enough credits had be earned Freshman through Junior year. 7 classes is an option depending on electives.

• Students must earn a "C" or better grade to move on to the next level of classes at the community college or university level.

• Students with deficient credits, please contact your assigned Counselor immediately to create a graduation plan.

• Students will need to do the following as they complete their high school career

  1. All Seniors must complete the Counselor Report form. Starting August 2023, our district is no longer using Naviance. Students will need to login with their school email to access the form.

  2. Apply for FAFSA or the CADAA Dream Act Application for Undocumented Students before April 2nd.  FAFSA window opens to apply starting in December 31st. 

  3. Explore the WICHE WEBSITE. The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) Agreement allows students who are residents of WICHE states to be eligible to request a reduced tuition rate at participating two or four-year college programs outside of their home state. 

  4. Send test scores to colleges or take the SAT or ACT before the last chance (typically around November)

  5. Check your email frequently to see information from colleges you've applied to. Often they might need additional information or need to correct any mistakes in your application.

  6. Notify your college by May 1st on your Intent to Enroll. You will have to notify Santa Teresa on your choice of college so we can send your final transcript.  

2023-2024 MANDATORY COUNSELOR REPORT 

All Seniors must complete the Counselor Report form. Starting August 2023, our district is no longer using Naviance. Students will need to login with their school email to access the form. 

This form is due no later than Sunday, October 1st, 2023. If you have a September College Application deadline, you must submit this form at least 5 school days (not the weekend or holiday) prior to your deadline.

SENDING TEST SCORES TO COLLEGES

(Read Instructions)

• Test scores are not required to apply to community colleges, CSU's, and UC's. Some Private and Out of State Universities continue to require test scores so do your research.

• November - LAST CHANCE to take the SAT or ACT College Entrance Exams if required. 

• How to Send your Test Scores?

  • 1. Send your SAT test scores via SAT College Board

    2. Send your ACT test scores via ACT

    3. Send your AP Test Scores via AP College Board

  • Select up to four Colleges to send your SAT scores (FREE) when you register for the exam with this code 3594. 

    1. Send to (one) CSU and all CSU's will receive your scores.

    2. Send to (one) UC and all UC's will receive your scores.

    3. Send to (two) Private Universities. Make sure to take advantage of this!

    4. If you have a fee waiver to take the SAT, you can send scores to as many colleges as your want for FREE - Submit an Income Eligibility Waiver.

    5. Send all scores, CSUs will super score which use the highest score from each test sitting

FINANCIAL AID

• Attend the FAFSA/CADAA Presentation on January 17th @6pm in the Theater (English), in the Library (Spanish).

• Attend Cash4College workshops for 1:1 support. March 18 Cash4College Workshop from 5-7pm in room 108.

CSU / UC COLLEGE APPLICATION DEADLINES

The California State University (CSU) Application window opens to apply online from (October 1 - November 30).

University of California (UC) Application window opens to apply online from (October 1- November 30).

• You are required to self-report all your courses and grades. Request an unofficial transcript from your Counselor to complete your application. 

• You are not required to submit a transcript unless the College requests one.

• Apply early and submit your college applications before the Thanksgiving Holiday!

• Check the Eligibility Index & GPA Calculator if needed

• If your are planning on attending SJSU, check the ESUHSD SJSU Spartan Promise & Summer Program in June Opportunity.

• Students attending SJSU must register for the SJSU Next Steps Webinar Zoom on March 12th @6pm 

COMMUNITY COLLEGE APPLICATION DEADLINES

The Community College Application window opens to apply online in the Spring (March/April). Check the CCCApply Guidelines for applying to a Community Colleges in California.

Attend the Community College Fair on March 13th during Lunch in the MPR and Community College Workshops starting March 15th during Tutorial, students request Ms. Doi.

PRIVATE / OUT-OF-STATE UNIVERSITY APPLICATION DEALINES

The Private / Out-of-State Universities require for you to complete the following:

• Deadline to apply varies. Students must be prepared with all appropriate information to not miss a deadline.

• Complete and submit the Counselor Report 2023-2024 form which includes: Letters of Recommendation, School Profile, Transcript, Teacher and Counselor Evaluation documents for Early Decision and Regular Decision.

• Complete and submit your Common Application.

• Complete your Brag Sheet with all your extra-curricular activities such as: volunteer hours, clubs, sports, awards, etc. and upload it to your Counselor Report.

• Complete your Secondary School Report (SSR) form and upload it to your Counselor Report.

• Your mid-year report and transcript will be submitted Mid-January, and your final  report/transcript in June.

• For Early Action/Decision - you should hear back sometime in December/January.

• For Regular Decision - you should hear back sometime between January/April.
