Living Earth Essentials is a specially designed course that provides an accommodated version of the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards): The Living Earth course, tailored to meet the needs of Special Education students. This course satisfies the East Side graduation requirement for a full-year, Life Science course.

Living Earth Essentials engages students in a comprehensive exploration of various aspects of biology and the environment. Throughout the course, students will participate in laboratory investigations focusing on key areas such as molecular biology, evolution, bioenergetics, and the relationship between humanity and our changing environment.

Living Earth Essentials also places a strong emphasis on the relationship between humanity and the environment. Students will explore the impact of human activities on ecosystems and the importance of sustainability. They will gain insights into the interdependence between living organisms and their environment, fostering an appreciation for the need to protect and conserve Earth's resources.

Living Earth Essentials is designed to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for Special Education students. The course accommodates individual needs, allowing students to access and comprehend the curriculum effectively.

By the end of the course, students will have developed a solid foundation in biological concepts and an appreciation for the intricacies of the living Earth.
