A work permit is a legal document required by the State of California for a HIGH SCHOOL minor to be able to hold a job.

ELIGIBILITY*
Age: 14-18 Years Old HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Grades: 2.0 GPA or above & No letter "F" grade
Attendance: Regularly attend school - minimal unexcused absences.

*Summer Work Permit Eligibility: Students may have a work permit during the Summer, even if minimum grades and attendance was not met during the school year. However, if attendance and grades were not met during the school year, work permits will not be renewed in the Fall.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Before a work permit can be issued, the minor must drop off a STATEMENT OF INTENT TO EMPLOY A MINOR AND REQUEST FOR A WORK PERMIT. Copies can be found in the counseling office and main office. It is also available online for printing here.
NEW WORK PERMIT
Must completely fill out a Work Permit Application found in the counseling office, main office or online here.
Student has to fill out their personal information at the top of the form, including student name, birthday, and social security number.
Application must be signed by the parent/guardian.
Employer section must be filled out and signed by the employer.
Once the work permit application is filled out and completed, students may bring the form to the counseling office.
Please allow a minimum of 48-36 hours to process the work permit.

WORK PERMIT RENEWAL
Fill out a new Work Permit Application found in the counseling office, main office or online here.
Student has to fill out their personal information at the top of the form, including student name, birthday, and social security number.
Application must be signed by the parent/guardian (Employer does not need to sign Renewal).
Please allow a minimum of 48-36 hours to process the work permit renewal.
