WHAT IS SVCTE?
SVCTE "Silicon Valley Career Technical Education" (formerly known as CCOC) educates eligible high school students for success in college and careers in a professional, hands-on environment. Students can explore and develop technical skills and may earn a certificate that will lead them to higher education or into the workforce. They offer 25 courses (21 of which are UC “a-g” approved) that prepare students for future careers and this program is free of charge for Junior and Senior high school students ONLY. Parents/ guardians are not allowed to participate in shadow days; shadow days are exclusively dedicated to prospective students. The open tour is an opportunity for parents/guardians to visit SVCTE and can pick from different Dates available on their website .
STEPS TO TAKE TO APPLY TO SVCTE
Students MUST be on track for graduation.
Students MUST be in the 11th or 12th grades.
Contact your School Counselor to check if you are eligible to apply. All students will receive a 1-on-1 scheduling appointment with their counselor in the Spring semester and eligibility may be determined at that meeting. Counselor will provide link to interested students to select their SVCTE Courses.
Attend the SVCTE Info Night Presentation on January 9, 2025 6-8PM in STHS Library and follow specific steps to enroll and select your pathway of choice.
Selected students must attend a Mandatory Registration Meeting during tutorial. *Please note that students are selected using a lottery system
