Multimedia 1
Multimedia 1 is an exciting and engaging project-based course that provides students with an introduction to 2-dimensional design using digital equipment and software. Throughout the course, students will work on various fun graphic design projects that will allow them to combine texts and images in creative ways. They will learn how to use vector and raster-based graphic design software such as Illustrator and Photoshop, and gain an understanding of computer and file imaging basics. Students will also have the opportunity to create their own art portfolio website, which they can use to showcase their work. Additionally, they will learn about the elements of art and principles of design, typography, composition, layout, and explore the history of art and design. By the end of the course, students will have developed basic graphic design skills and will have created a diverse range of multimedia projects. This course is open to all students with an interest in graphic design and visual communication.

Multimedia 2
Multimedia 2 is an intermediate level course that builds upon the skills learned in Multimedia 1, with a focus on motion and interface design, incorporating visual storytelling and sequencing in art making. Students will continue to use digital tools and equipment, including web design and motion graphics software, to create projects with increasing complexity. Through project-based assignments, students will further develop their art criticism, portfolio, and presentation, as well as entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Students will also have the opportunity to create more art to add to their portfolio. By the end of the course, students will be able to solve design problems and produce media products for different functions. The course includes fun storytelling projects and students will learn how to use animation and visual effects software. Multimedia 2 is open to students who have successfully completed Multimedia 1 or have demonstrated equivalent proficiency in graphic design.

Multimedia 3
Multimedia 3 is an advanced level course that focuses on time-based design using video and audio production tools. Students will revisit the integration of text, images, animation, and interface to create multimedia projects while exploring advanced techniques and concepts in art, design, and technology. This course will have increasingly complex, specialized projects that require students to produce a wide variety of art, media, and design products. Students will also research career and educational pathways, develop a professional portfolio, and plan for post-secondary transition. Completion of Multimedia 3 will prepare students for college design courses or transition into trade and apprenticeship work in the design field.
