English 2A is an accelerated, standards-based college preparatory course that builds advanced reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through the study of literature representing diverse cultures and perspectives. Students engage in more rigorous analysis of literary and informational texts, develop evidence-based literary and analytical writing, participate in collaborative academic discussions, and strengthen their understanding of literary elements, rhetoric, and effective communication.
