AP English Language and Composition is a college-level course that develops advanced rhetorical reading, writing, and analytical skills through the study of diverse nonfiction and selected literary texts. Students evaluate how writers use rhetorical strategies across a variety of genres, construct evidence-based arguments, and refine their writing for purpose, audience, and style in preparation for college-level coursework and the AP English Language and Composition Exam.

AP English Literature and Composition is a college-level course that develops advanced literary analysis, critical reading, and analytical writing through the study of fiction, poetry, and drama. Students closely examine how authors use literary elements, structure, style, figurative language, imagery, symbolism, and tone to create meaning while producing evidence-based literary analysis in preparation for college-level coursework and the AP English Literature and Composition Exam.
