When does the bus leave ST and when does it leave the venue?
- The bus leaves ST at 6pm at the bus loading zone at the student parking lot, so make sure you arrive by 5:30pm! The bus leaves the venue at 11:15, so leave promptly to get back home!
Is it true that you can't go to prom if you have XX amount of absences?
- From administration: Due to the lack of time in giving students a heads-up about attendance, we had decided to NOT penalize students about their absences with regards to this event. For this year only, your absences will not affect your ability to attend Prom.
Will the food be the same as last year?
- Nope! We have a brand new menu this year: Look at bit.ly/sthsprom for the menu!
Do we get free parking? Do we get validated? How long can we park?
- Yes! Please make sure to park in the Santa Cruz parking lots and bring your ticket into the venue to get it validated. You can park there for the whole event! Car must be taken out of lot after the event is over. No overnight.
What time will the arcade be open until?
- The arcade will be open from 9 PM to 11 PM. Students will not be able to play any prize winning games using the wristband included with your ticket.
Do we bring the receipt for my ticket to enter the prom?
- Nope. You are on a list. You just need to make sure you have your student ID or MINGA ID. Your MINGA ID will have a badge saying you're allowed into prom.
How long can we park on campus?
The school parking lot gate will be locked after the bus returns. Their car will be locked into the lot overnight if attendees do not drive away in them after being dropped off by the bus.
Is the arcade free?
- Yes! You just can't do prize games for free or the print-out photobooth machine in the arcade.
Is the ticket on our MINGA ID?
- Yes! Your ID will have a special badge that night that shows that you have bought a ticket.
Do doors close at some point?
- Nope! But remember that once you leave, you can't come back!
Is a coat check included?
- Yep! Free coat check at the event site!
All students attending prom will have exclusive access to the downstairs arcade at Cocoanut Grove. Each student will receive a wristband upon entry, granting them unlimited free play on all arcade games from 9:00pm onwards. It’s the perfect way to take a break from the dance floor and have some extra fun with friends!
For students opting for school transportation, charter buses will be available to take you to and from prom. The buses will depart from Santa Teresa High School, travel down Highway 17, and arrive at the stunning Coconut Grove in Santa Cruz, our prom venue for the night.
Students who are taking the bus should meet at the bus loading zone at the student parking lot. This is the area in front of the Attendance Office as one exits the school. Students are advised to arrive to load at 5:30pm. The bus will leave promptly at 6:00pm.
At the end of the event, all students who chose school transportation must board the bus back to Santa Teresa High School—no alternate transportation is allowed. The bus will leave from the venue at 11:15pm and will take approximately one hour to arrive back at Santa Teresa.
If you’d like to take advantage of this option, it’s an additional $20 added to your prom ticket price. This is a convenient and safe way to enjoy the night without worrying about the drive!
Tickets can be bought online or at the school bank, as long as the student has already submitted a permission slip that includes transportation authorization.
